Long Drought

There has been an absence of the Chronicles for a few months, completely unintended – but here we are again.

As usual the journey of life has taken me to great destinations over the past 6 months, to mention Bogotá, Edinburgh, Aberdeen, New York, Lake Tahoe, Sacramento, Mexico City, Galveston, Chappell Hill and most importantly an internal journey.

I learned very valuable lessons in the past 6 months, at times certain events of the journey really hurt us but we have no right to ignore the positive side and fall into despair. Pain is inevitable, suffering is an option as well as our efforts and desire to be happy and make the best of every single opportunity.

Obviously that is not necessarily me, sometimes I need my community support system to help me to lift my spirit and cheer up.

Thus, here are 3 of the big lessons I learned in the journey of the past 6 months:

1. Is much easier to attract flies with honey than vinegar, even when the surroundings are negative, aggressive and defensive, is much easier to keep the cool and be gentle.

2. Our mind is so distracted with the technology tools and spinning in the dark of the past and the future, we should be more attentive of the present and give Undivided attention to the now and that includes the people and the task at hand.

3. And probably the most important of all these lessons was the importance of giving respect to those whom we do not expect anything from and treat them with compassion -dignity and humbling attitude. Many times we turn our anger and frustration into the people who has the least to do with our frustration.

  1. Manolo,
I miss you so much my friend! I loved your text of today.
When are you coming back to Rio?
This weekend I took a very nice course: Art of Livind. You should do it if you have not yet done so.
    Best, Dani

I just came back from a trip to Africa which was an unforgeatable experience. Reading your text reminded me some of the feelings I felt there. Missing you a lot. All the best from Rio!
